Şehrazat was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1952. Her family has a strong connection to music and business.

• Her father, S. Siham Kemali Söylemezoğlu, was a well-known businessman.
• Her mother, Sevinç Tevs, was a very famous jazz singer. People said she had one of the most amazing voices of the 20th century! She even won the 1948 Miami Jazz Festival.
