The 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup was a big international football (soccer) tournament. It was the 10th time this competition was held. The event took place in Russia from June 17 to July 2, 2017.

Eight national teams competed in the tournament. These included Russia as the host country. The other seven teams qualified by winning major football championships. For example, Germany qualified because they won the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Other teams like Australia, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, and Cameroon won their regional championships.

Host Cities and Stadiums

Four cities in Russia were chosen to host the matches. These cities were Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi, and Kazan. Each city had a modern stadium ready for the games.
