Adam Brinley Woodyatt, born on June 28, 1968, is an English actor. He is most famous for playing the character Ian Beale in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. He has been in the show since it started in 1985. This makes him one of the longest-serving actors on the show.

Early Life and School
Adam Woodyatt was born in Walthamstow, London. He grew up in east London. He went to two private schools: Forest School and the Sylvia Young Theatre School. He also studied at Llanidloes High School in Wales.
When he was 13, Adam acted in a play called On the Razzle at the Royal National Theatre.
Acting Career
After finishing school, Adam appeared in some TV shows. These included The Baker Street Boys and The Witches and the Grinnygog in 1983.
Then, he took a short break from acting. He worked as a butcher in Wales. Soon after, he joined the cast of EastEnders. He took on the role of Ian Beale. He didn't expect to stay long, but he became the longest-serving male actor on the show.
In 2013, Adam received a special award. It was the British Soap Award for Outstanding Achievement. This award celebrated his many years on EastEnders.
Adam has also been a guest on many other TV shows. He appeared on game shows like A Question of Sport. He also won the Celebrity Special of Robot Wars. He has helped raise money for charity on Children in Need.
In 2015, Adam acted in a pantomime. He played the henchman in Snow White. He enjoyed performing live for an audience.
In August 2020, Adam took a break from EastEnders. He returned briefly in 2022 for a special episode. He came back to the show full-time in August 2023. His character's wife, Cindy Beale, also returned.
In November 2021, Adam joined I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. He finished in sixth place on the show.
Other Interests
Adam Woodyatt is also a talented photographer. He started this hobby when he was 13. In 2008, he won an award for his photography. He won the Architectural Photographer of the Year Award. He took a picture at St Pancras station.
Personal Life
Adam Woodyatt married Beverley Sharp in 1998. They had two children together. They lived in Southam, Warwickshire, for many years. In 2020, it was reported that they had separated.
Adam is a fan of Liverpool F.C.. He also loves sci-fi stories.
Charity Work
Adam's father passed away from cancer at age 58. This inspired Adam to help raise money for cancer research. He even broke his collarbone training for a charity bike ride in 2003.
He also helped organize an event for Haiti in 2010. This event raised £30,000. Adam supports the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. He is also an Ambassador for the Children's Air Ambulance.
In 2019, he ran the London Marathon. He ran with other EastEnders actors. They did this to support a Dementia campaign. It was in honor of former EastEnders actress Barbara Windsor.
