Babar and the Adventures of Badou is a fun computer-animated TV show for kids. It was made in Canada, France, and Luxembourg. The series started in 2010 and is based on the famous Babar the Elephant books.
This show takes place many years after the original Babar TV series. It introduces new characters to Babar's world. The main character is Badou, who is Babar's 8-year-old grandson.
The English version of the show first aired in Australia on September 6, 2010. It then came to France on November 8, 2010, and to Canada on November 22, 2010. Later, it also premiered in the U.S. on Disney Junior on February 14, 2011. The show was so popular that it got a second season, which started in 2013, and a third and final season from 2014 to 2015.

What is Babar and the Adventures of Badou About?
This series follows the exciting adventures of Badou, who is Babar's eight-year-old grandson. Badou lives in Celesteville with his family and friends. Together, they solve mysteries, puzzles, and all sorts of tricky situations. In this new version of Celesteville, you'll see many different kinds of animals, not just elephants!
Even though there are lots of new faces, some of the original characters are still around. You'll see Babar, Celeste, and Lord Rataxes joining in the fun.

The show features a mix of brand new characters and some familiar faces from the original Babar stories.
New Friends in Celesteville
- Badou: He's an elephant and the prince of Celesteville. Badou is super adventurous, just like his grandfather, Babar! He loves to jump into new situations and prove himself.
- Chiku: A clever monkey who is very curious and loves to ask questions. She's good at building things and is a talented dancer.
- Munroe: A brave crested porcupine. He sees himself as Badou's protector. Munroe is athletic and dreams of joining the Royal Guard when he's older. He even practices a special martial art called Quill-Fu!
- Zawadi: A zebra who always sees things as right or wrong. She's outspoken and wants to make her own mark on the world. She also loves flowers and gardening.
- Jake: A small, scruffy fox pup. He's an orphan who found his way to Celesteville and became good friends with Badou. Cornelius is his guardian.
- Miss Strich: An ostrich who works as a teacher and palace guide. She's very excitable, especially when Badou and his friends are having fun.
- Crocodylus: A sneaky crocodile who is an ambassador. He's always trying to come up with plans to take over Celesteville or win contests.
- Dilash: A young crocodile and Crocodylus's nephew. He often causes trouble with his cousin and uncle. He's a bit of a bully.
- Tersh: Dilash's younger cousin and Crocodylus's nephew. He's usually helping his uncle and cousin, even if he doesn't want to. Tersh is kinder and more friendly than them, though a bit gullible.
- Boss of the Slogs: The leader of the Alligator and Crocodile kingdom. She's friendly and fair, unlike Crocodylus.
- Gallop: A wise old turtle who lives near Celesteville.
- Dandy Andi: A cool and friendly wild lion who is king of the nearby savanna. He's a good friend to Badou and his gang.
- Hannah, Ramsey and Skylar: Three lionesses from the savanna. They once took care of Jake when he was a baby.
- Deb Mouse: A kind-hearted mouse who lives in the palace with her children.
- Lulu: Badou's little cousin. She's full of energy and loves spending time with Badou.
- Rhudi: A rhinoceros prince and Lord Rataxes's grandson. He has a rivalry with Badou, just like their grandfathers.
- Periwinkle: Badou's mother and Babar's daughter-in-law. She's the Celesteville doctor and enjoys making metal sculptures.
- Captain Darling: A friendly crocodile sailor often found at the docks.
- Hoot: A friendly spotted hyena from the savanna. She loves practical jokes and shares Jake's unique taste in food.
- Professor Rozeekeewhack: A super smart giraffe scientist. She's a bit clumsy because of her height and uses a blimp as her mobile lab.
- Jabbsi: A legendary porcupine martial arts master. He trained Babar in the past and now teaches Munroe Quill-Fu.
- Heropotamus: A hippopotamus who is an archaeologist. He calls Badou "pup."
- Queen Cleo: An ancient elephant queen. Many old items from her time are found in Wind Song Canyon.
- Ayla: The princess of the Green Elephant Tribe. She's a descendant of Queen Cleo and is very athletic and adventurous, like Badou.
- King Grank: The king of the Green Elephant Tribe, Ayla's father, and a descendant of Queen Cleo. He rules the Hidden Valley.
- Candeen: The prince of the Green Elephant Tribe, Ayla's brother, and a descendant of Queen Cleo.
- Tiger Snakes: Striped Snakes that live in the Hidden Valley jungle.
- Kylus: A rogue lion in the savanna and Dandy Andi's rival.
- Squeeze: A large rock python living in the jungle.
- Sleek: A wild black leopard who tries to catch the civilized animals. She lives in the jungle outside Celesteville.
- Prospero: A cape buffalo and a bush pirate. He's banned from the kingdom but still sneaks around to make money.
- Captain Blacktrunk: A mean elephant pirate who was once outsmarted by Babar.
- Snaggle-Eye Jack: A tricky crocodile pirate.
- Monkey Mate: A monkey pirate who works with Snaggle-Eye.
- Candy Cook: A hippopotamus chef at the candy shop.
- Avery O'Dare: A vulture pilot who helps with emergencies.
Original Characters You Know and Love
- Babar: The wise king of Celesteville and Badou's grandfather. Badou calls him "Pappy."
- Celeste: Babar's wife and queen, and Badou's grandmother. Badou calls her "Nana." Celesteville is named after her!
- Cornelius: Babar's main advisor and Prime Minister. He's also the guardian of Jake and tries to find out about Jake's family.
- Pom: Babar's oldest son and Badou's father. He's the city's architect and safety officer.
- Zephir: Babar's good friend and Chiku's father.
- Celesteville Royal Guards: The brave guards who protect Celesteville and the Royal Family. Munroe hopes to join them one day!
- General Huc: A general from Monkeyville, Zephir's father-in-law, and Chiku's grandfather. He's a talented rapper!
- Lord Rataxes: The king of Rhinoland and Rhudi's grandfather. His wife can usually keep him in line.
- Lady Rataxes: Lord Rataxes's wife and Rhudi's grandmother. She's very protective of Rhudi.
