Bernard Fowler's Music Journey
Bernard Fowler started his music career in 1975. His first recordings were with a group called The Total Eclipse. They released an album named A Great Combination. In the early 1980s, he joined a New York City group called The Peech Boys. This group had popular dance songs like "Don't Make Me Wait". He also sang on the One Down album by Material. He even helped write some of the songs on that album.
In 1982, Bernard sang on a fun song called Do The Smurf For What It's Worth. He also worked with famous musicians like Herbie Hancock. He sang on Herbie's albums Future Shock (1983) and Sound-System (1984). Bernard also sang on albums by Public Image Ltd and Sly & Robbie in 1985. In 1986, he sang a song written by Philip Glass and Paul Simon. He continued to work with many artists, including James Blood Ulmer and Bootsy Collins. Bernard was also the main singer for the group Tackhead for several years.
Singing with The Rolling Stones

In 1985, Bernard Fowler was asked to sing backup for Mick Jagger's first solo album, She's the Boss. This was the start of a long friendship and working relationship. He has worked with all the members of The Rolling Stones. He sang on solo albums for Charlie Watts, Keith Richards, and Ron Wood.
After working with individual Stones members, Bernard was chosen to join The Rolling Stones on their Steel Wheels world tour in 1989. Mick Jagger said he picked Bernard because he had a great singing range. He also had many musical styles and lots of energy. Bernard has been a regular backup singer for The Rolling Stones ever since. He also sang on three of Charlie Watts' jazz solo albums. Other Rolling Stones members, like Keith Richards and Ron Wood, have also used his amazing voice on their own projects.
Songwriting and Other Projects
Bernard Fowler has also helped other artists write songs. He has worked with Ron Wood to create songs for Ron's solo albums. They have written and recorded several songs together.
In 2006, Bernard released his first solo album called Friends with Privileges. This album was released in Japan. Many famous musicians helped him on this album. These included Ron Wood, Darryl Jones, and Lisa Fischer from The Rolling Stones. Other artists like Waddy Wachtel, members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Robert Plant, and Joe Elliot also joined in. Bernard's newest music project is called the IMF's.
In May 2011, he was a special guest at a concert in Montevideo, Uruguay. He performed with the Argentine musician Charly Garcia.
