Bertrand Demond Berry (born August 15, 1975) is a former American football player. He played as a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Early Life & High School Sports
Bertrand Berry, also known by his nickname "King," started playing football when he was young. He played for the Cardinals in the Humble Area Football League as a running back.
He went to Humble High School in Humble, Texas. There, he was a star athlete in three different sports. He excelled in basketball, football, and track.
In basketball, he was chosen for the all-district team twice. In track, he was good at throwing the discus. He also set a school record in the shuttle hurdle relays.
College Football Career
After high school, Berry attended the University of Notre Dame. He was a four-year letterman in football. This means he played for the team for four years and earned a special award for his participation.
During his college career, he made 187 tackles. He also had 16.5 sacks. A sack happens when a defensive player tackles the opposing team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage.
Professional Football Journey
Bertrand Berry was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round of the 1997 NFL draft. He began his professional career as a linebacker. Later, he switched to playing as a defensive end.
He spent most of his time with the Colts playing on defense and special teams. He was a starter in most of the games he played on defense.
In 2000, he signed with the St. Louis Rams. However, he was released from the team during their training camp.
Playing in Canada
On September 26, 2000, Berry signed with the Edmonton Eskimos. This team plays in the Canadian Football League. He played in two games for them. He made one tackle during his time with the Eskimos.
NFL Return and Success
By the 2003 season, Berry was playing for the Denver Broncos. He became a starter at defensive end for the team. That year, he led the Broncos in both tackles and sacks.
Before the 2004 season, the Arizona Cardinals signed him as a free agent. During the 2004 season, he was chosen to represent the NFC in the 2005 Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl is an all-star game for the best players in the NFL.
On March 18, 2009, Berry agreed to a new one-year contract with the Cardinals.
Retirement from Football
On January 21, 2010, Bertrand Berry announced he was retiring from the NFL. He had a successful career. He finished with 232 total tackles. He also recorded 65 sacks and forced 13 fumbles.
After Football: Broadcasting
After retiring from playing, Bertrand Berry started a new career in radio. In August 2011, he began hosting "The Bertrand Berry Show." This show was on The Fan AM 1060 KDUS in Phoenix. He hosted it with Mike Grose on weekdays. The show ended on December 28, 2012.
On April 23, 2015, Berry filled in as a host for Ron Wolfley. This was on the Doug and Wolf Show on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. This is a local radio station in Arizona. On August 3, he started hosting his own show called "Off the Edge with B-Train." This show is also on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
