Bobby Shou Wood (born November 15, 1992) is an American professional soccer player. He plays as a striker for the Major League Soccer club New England Revolution.

Early Life and First Steps in Soccer
Bobby Wood was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His mother has Japanese roots, and his father is African American. He started playing soccer in 1999 with Powder Edge SC in Honolulu. In 2005, he moved to California to play with the Irvine Strikers.
Playing for Clubs
In July 2007, Bobby moved to Germany. He joined the youth academy of 1860 Munich.
Starting in Germany: 1860 Munich
Bobby Wood made his first professional appearance on January 29, 2011. He played for 1860 Munich in a 2. Bundesliga match. In October 2011, he started his first game for the team.
On November 30, 2012, Bobby scored his first professional goal. This goal helped 1860 Munich get a 1–1 draw. In December 2012, he signed his first professional contract. This kept him with 1860 Munich until the 2016 season.
Loan to Erzgebirge Aue
In February 2015, Bobby went on loan to Erzgebirge Aue. This was another team in the 2. Bundesliga. He played nine league games and scored three goals for them. After his time there, the club was moved down to a lower league.
Union Berlin
In July 2015, Bobby Wood joined 1. FC Union Berlin. He signed a three-year contract with the club. In his first season with Union Berlin, he set a new record. He scored the most goals by an American player in Germany's top two soccer leagues.
Hamburger SV
On May 15, 2016, Bobby Wood signed a four-year deal with Hamburger SV. He made his Bundesliga debut on August 27 against FC Ingolstadt. Bobby scored the first goal in that game, which ended in a 1–1 draw. His goal was even voted the "Goal of the Week" in the Bundesliga.
He scored again on September 10 against Bayer Leverkusen. However, Hamburg faced a tough time after that. Their coach was changed, and Bobby received a three-match ban after a game against 1. FC Köln.
Despite challenges, Bobby continued to score important goals. He helped Hamburg avoid being moved to a lower league in the 2016–17 season. In the 2017–18 season, Hamburg struggled again. They were eventually moved down to the second division for the first time in their history.
Loan to Hannover 96
On July 9, 2018, Bobby Wood joined Hannover 96 on loan. He played for them until the end of the 2018–19 season.
Real Salt Lake
On April 2, 2021, Bobby signed with Major League Soccer team Real Salt Lake. His contract was set to start on July 1, 2021. However, his contract with Hamburger SV ended early, allowing him to join Real Salt Lake right away. He played for them until the end of the 2022 season.
Loan to Real Monarchs
On October 7, 2021, Bobby was loaned to Real Monarchs. This is Real Salt Lake's reserve team. He played for them for the rest of the 2021 USL Championship season.
New England Revolution
Bobby Wood was chosen by the New England Revolution in November 2022. He officially joined the team on December 5, 2022. He signed a one-year deal for the 2023 season.
He played his first game for the Revolution on February 25, 2023. On March 4, 2023, he scored his first goal for the club. He also got an assist in that game. Bobby scored several more goals during the 2023 season. He finished the year with 7 goals and 5 assists, being the second-highest scorer for his team.
In 2024, Bobby continued to play for the Revolution. He scored 3 goals in the MLS regular season. He also scored important goals in the 2024 Leagues Cup knockout stage and achieved his first MLS career "brace" (scoring two goals in one game) on August 24.
Playing for His Country
In May 2013, Bobby Wood was chosen for the United States national team. He made his first senior international appearance in August 2013.
Bobby scored his first goal for the national team in June 2015. It was a winning goal against the Netherlands. Five days later, he scored another winning goal against Germany. He also scored a tying goal against Mexico in a big game in October 2015. Bobby continued to score important goals in World Cup qualification matches in 2017 and friendly games in 2018. He has played many games for the United States.
