Bossonnens is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It's part of the Veveyse district. This charming place is known for its quiet, natural surroundings.

History of Bossonnens

Bossonnens was first mentioned around the year 1000. Back then, its name was Bucenens.

Geography of Bossonnens

Bossonnens covers an area of about 4.1 square kilometers (1.6 square miles). A large part of this land, about 71.5%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 15.9% of the area. The remaining 12.2% is where buildings and roads are located.

Most of the forested land is covered with thick forests. For farming, about 26.3% of the land is used for growing crops, and 44.1% is used for pastures where animals graze. The town is located in the Veveyse district, right on the road that connects Vevey and Oron.
