About Cartoon Medley
This album is a collection of theme songs and music from many Cartoon Network shows. The Cartoon Medley album cover looks like a funny TV dinner meal. It even says it contains "Flaky fried Cow and Chicken, Space Ghost-Zorak-Brak veggies, and [a] Yogi gelatin treat."
How the Album Was Made
The idea for Cartoon Medley was first shared in early 1999. It was officially released on July 6, 1999. Kid Rhino, which is a part of Rhino Entertainment that makes music for kids, released it. You could buy it as a CD or a cassette tape.
The CD version came with extra fun stuff for your computer! These CD-ROM features included six games you could download. There were also other activities for kids, like the words to the songs in the album booklet. You could even find samples of video games that were on Cartoon Network's official website.
Jamie Porges, who worked as a Vice President at Cartoon Network, wanted the album to have more than just the main theme songs. Craig McCracken, the creator of The Powerpuff Girls, helped make this happen. He worked with the Scottish band Bis to record new music. Together, they created "The Powerpuff Girls (End Theme)" especially for the show. To help promote Cartoon Medley, people could visit Cartoon Network's website. There, they could listen to small parts of songs like "Boo Boo, Baba, Dee Dee," "The Powerpuff Girls," and "Josie & the Pussycats."
What's Inside
The Cartoon Medley album has a total of 38 songs. It plays for 35 minutes and 47 seconds. Phil Baron was the main person in charge of making the album.
