María Laura Corradini Falomir (born June 25, 1975), known as Chenoa, is a singer from Argentina and Spain. She became famous after competing on the TV singing show Operación Triunfo. Chenoa's music is mostly pop, and she sings in Spanish. She has also recorded some songs in English. Since 2002, she has sold over 1,000,000 music records.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Chenoa was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, on June 25, 1975. When she was eight, her family moved to Mallorca, Spain. She grew up in a family that loved music. Both of her parents were musicians who sang at live shows in hotels.

When Chenoa was 16, she started singing professionally. She joined her parents' shows. When her mother became ill, Chenoa took her place. Her father's family is from Italy, and her grandmother on her mother's side is from Lebanon.

Chenoa also studied to become a teacher for young children. At age 20, she began performing in shows at the Casino de Mallorca. This helped her become confident on stage before she joined the first season of Operación Triunfo in 2001.

Chenoa's Music Career

First Albums and Early Success

Chenoa's first album, named Chenoa, came out in April 2002 in Spain. The first song released from it was "Atrévete". This song also had an English version called "Mystify". The biggest hit from this album was "Cuando tú vas", which was played all over Spain in the summer of 2002.

The Chenoa album sold over 500,000 copies in Spain. It stayed on the Top 100 chart for 61 weeks. Chenoa was nominated for two Premios Amigo awards, which are Spanish music awards. She was nominated for Best New Female Artist and Best Female Artist. In 2002, she went on a tour in Spain with more than 90 shows. In April 2003, Chenoa won Eurobest, a European singing contest, where she sang "It's Raining Men".

Soy Mujer and International Reach

Her second studio album was called Soy mujer. It was recorded in Miami and Madrid in 2003. This album mixed different music styles like pop, rock, Latin, and Arab sounds. Soy mujer became number one on the Spanish album chart. It sold over 250,000 copies and stayed on the top 100 chart for 47 weeks. The album also did well in Venezuela, reaching number two.

Songs released from this album included "En tu cruz me clavaste", "Soy lo que me das", "Siete pétalos", and "Dame". "Dame" was a number one hit in Spain for three weeks in 2004. "Rutinas" was the first song from this album and became number one in Spain. The album sold over 100,000 copies in Spain. It was also promoted in Mexico and other Latin American countries. Other songs from the album were "Tengo para ti" and "Donde estés". In 2006, she toured Spain with over 40 shows.

On October 9, 2007, Chenoa released her fifth studio album, Absurda Cenicienta. She wrote all the songs on this album herself. The first song was "Todo irá bien". The album reached number one on the iTunes Latin Albums chart. It also reached number two on the Spanish albums charts. It quickly earned a Gold certification in Spain. The song "Todo irá bien" became a number one hit in 12 countries, including Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Spain.

The album starts with three strong songs. "Buenas Noticias" is an upbeat song with acoustic guitar. "Nada de Nada" is an intense electro-rock song with Gloria Trevi. "Duele" is a sad song about heartbreak.
