History of Chipita
Chipita is a Greek company that makes snack foods. It started way back in 1973. A big moment for Chipita was in 1991. That's when they launched their famous 7DAYS croissant. This was a special baked snack that came in its own package and stayed fresh for a long time.
Today, Chipita makes its products in factories located in 11 different countries. They sell these snacks to people in 56 countries. They do this either directly or by working with other companies.
Chipita has 13 factories that they own themselves. These are in countries like the Netherlands, Greece, Germany, and the United Kingdom. They also have six more factories that they run with partners. These are in places like Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and India.
Chipita also has offices in 15 countries. These offices help sell their products. More than 5,800 people work for Chipita. About 4,700 of them work directly for Chipita. The rest work through their partner companies.
In May 2021, a big company called Mondelēz International bought Chipita. They paid about €2 billion for it. The deal was finished on January 3, 2022.
