Christian Jesús González Nodal (born January 11, 1999) is a talented Mexican singer and songwriter. He grew up in Sonora, Mexico. Christian Nodal is famous for creating "mariacheño" music. This style mixes traditional mariachi sounds with norteño music. He has won many important awards, including six Latin Grammy Awards. He also has a Lo Nuestro Award, two Billboard Latin Music Awards, and a Latin American Music Award.

Nodal started his music journey at age seventeen. He signed with Universal Music Latin in 2016. His first album, Me Dejé Llevar, came out in February 2017. It was very popular and reached number seven on the Mexican music charts. Songs like "Adiós Amor" and "Te Fallé" became number one hits. Other songs from the album, "Probablemente" and "Me Dejé Llevar", also did very well. In 2019, he released his second album, Ahora. This album also had popular songs like "No Te Contaron Mal", "Nada Nuevo", and "De Los Besos Que Te Di".

In 2021, Christian Nodal made history with his song "Botella Tras Botella". He sang it with rapper Gera MX. It was the first regional Mexican song to appear on the famous Billboard Hot 100 chart. It reached number 60. This song is currently Nodal's most played song on Spotify. In 2022, Nodal joined Sony Music Mexico. A few months later, he released an extended play (EP) called Forajido. This EP had the hit song "Ya No Somos Ni Seremos", which was number one on the Billboard Mexico Songs chart. In May 2023, he released another EP, Forajido 2. It included popular songs like "Quédate" and "Un Cumbión Dolido".

Early Life and Music Beginnings

Christian Nodal was born and raised in Caborca, Sonora, Mexico. His parents, Cristina Silvia Nodal and Jaime González, were also musicians. Christian learned a lot about music from his family. His grandfather, Ramón, taught him how to write poems that rhymed when he was very young. Christian says his grandfather told him to always write honestly.

Nodal began making music when he was just four years old. By age thirteen, he taught himself to play the piano and guitar. He even wrote his first song at that age for a crush he had in middle school. Christian shared that there was always music in his home. His neighbors also helped him learn to play the guitar and trumpet.

Music Career Highlights

2016–2017: First Steps and Debut Album

Before signing with a record label, Christian Nodal posted videos on Facebook. These videos became very popular online. In April 2016, he signed with Universal Music Latin. He released his first song, "Adiós Amor", which was a cover. The song quickly became a huge hit in Mexico and the United States. It reached number one on the Mexican charts. It also made it to number four on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. This was a big deal for regional Mexican music. In June 2017, Nodal worked with Spanish singer David Bisbal on the song "Probablemente". This song reached number two on the Monitor Latino charts.

In August 2017, Nodal released his first full album, Me Dejé Llevar. It was very successful, reaching number seven in Mexico and on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart in the U.S. Music critics praised the album, especially its beautiful mariachi sounds. Nodal wrote many of the songs himself. In 2018, the album was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album. The song "Probablemente" won Latin Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Song. The album was certified three times platinum in the U.S. and diamond in Mexico, showing how popular it was.
