Christian Jesús González Nodal (born January 11, 1999) is a famous Mexican singer and songwriter. He grew up in Sonora, Mexico, and is known for creating a new style of music called "mariacheño." This is a mix of traditional mariachi music and modern norteño music.

Nodal has won many awards for his music. These include six Latin Grammy Awards, a Lo Nuestro Award, and two Billboard Latin Music Awards. He became famous very quickly after his first song, "Adiós Amor", became a huge hit.

In 2021, his song "Botella Tras Botella" with rapper Gera MX made history. It was the first regional Mexican song to ever appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. This showed how popular his music had become all over the world.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Christian Nodal was born in Caborca, Sonora, Mexico. Music was a big part of his family. His parents, Cristina Silvia Nodal and Jaime González, were both musicians. When he was a young boy, his grandfather taught him how to write poems. He told him, "Try to make sure that what you write is always as honest and pure as possible."

Nodal started playing with music when he was only four years old. By the time he was thirteen, he had taught himself how to play the piano and guitar. He even wrote his first song for a girl he liked in middle school. He once said, "there was always music in my house."

Music Career

2016–2017: A Viral Start and First Album

Before he was famous, Nodal posted videos of himself singing on Facebook. People loved his music, and his videos went viral. This got the attention of record labels. In 2016, when he was seventeen, he signed with Universal Music Latin.

His first single was a new version of the song "Adiós Amor". It became a massive hit in Mexico and the United States. The song reached the top of the charts for Mexican music.

In August 2017, Nodal released his first album, Me Dejé Llevar. It was very successful and reached number seven on the music charts in Mexico. Music critics praised the album for its beautiful mariachi sounds. One critic said Nodal's singing reminded him of great singers like Vincente Fernandez. The album won several awards and made Nodal a star.

In 2020, he released a shorter album called an extended play (EP), titled Ayayay!. It was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award. That same year, he was a coach on the TV show La Voz Mexico, and the singer on his team won the competition.

2021–2023: Making History and New Music

In April 2021, Nodal released "Botella Tras Botella" with rapper Gera MX. The song was a global hit and became the first regional Mexican song to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This was a huge moment for Mexican music.

In 2022, Nodal signed with a new record label, Sony Music Mexico. He released a new EP called Forajido. One of its songs, "Ya No Somos Ni Seremos", became a number-one hit in Mexico. A year later, in May 2023, he released a second part, Forajido 2, which also had popular songs.

Personal Life

Nodal's personal life has often been in the news. In 2021, he was engaged to the singer and actress Belinda, whom he met on the show La Voz. They announced their separation in February 2022.

After his relationship with Belinda ended, Nodal began dating the Argentine singer Cazzu. In April 2023, they announced they were expecting a baby. Their daughter, Inti, was born on September 14, 2023. Nodal and Cazzu later separated.

In June 2024, Nodal confirmed he was in a relationship with singer Ángela Aguilar. They got married in a private ceremony on July 24, 2024.

Tattoos

Nodal is known for having many tattoos on his face, arms, and body. He has said he is "addicted" to them. Some of his face tattoos have special meanings. For example, he has a cross for his faith, a moon for inspiration, and a cactus to represent his hometown in Sonora.

After his daughter was born, Nodal decided to have his facial tattoos removed. He said, "I want my daughter to meet me... I want her to see my face without them." He explained that the process is long and painful, so he will not remove all of his tattoos.
