Clayhall is a neighbourhood in east London, England. It's part of Ilford in the London Borough of Redbridge. It's a suburban area, meaning it has lots of homes and green spaces.

The name 'Clayhall' comes from an old manor house that used to be here. The area was first mentioned in a document from 1203. It was land given to Adam and Matilda de la Claie by Richard de la Claie. The same family likely owned the land for about 100 years. By 1410, it was officially called the 'manor of Clayhall'.

In the 1600s, a man named Sir Christopher Hatton lived in the Manor House. His wife later sold the manor to Sir John Wolstenholme. By the mid-1700s, the estate was rented out to farmers. The original manor house was taken down around the mid-1700s. A farm house was built in its place. The land was then divided up for building new homes in 1935.

Clayhall has a lovely place called Clayhall Park in Longwood Gardens. It's one of Ilford's biggest open spaces. You can find a bowling green, two fun children's play areas, and tennis courts there. Clayhall also has a small community library. It's run by Vision RCL and is part of Redbridge Libraries.
