The County of Vermilion River is a special type of local government area called a municipal district. It is located in the eastern part of central Alberta, Canada. This area is part of Census Division No. 10. Before September 13, 2006, it was known as the County of Vermilion River No. 24.
The main offices for the County of Vermilion River are in Kitscoty. The Vermilion River flows through the County. This river is where the region gets its name.
Important roads in the County include the Yellowhead Highway and the Buffalo Trail. Some towns in the County, like Vermilion and Kitscoty, also have train service from CN Rail.
