Cranbury Brook, sometimes called Cranberry Brook, is a small river that flows into the Millstone River. It's located in Middlesex and Monmouth Counties, New Jersey, in the United States. It's an important part of the local water system.

Where Cranbury Brook Flows

Cranbury Brook begins its journey at 40°15′37″N 74°24′5″W / 40.26028°N 74.40139°W / 40.26028; -74.40139. This spot is close to where three roads meet: SR-33, Dugans Grove Road, and Iron Ore Road. From there, it flows mainly towards the west.

As it travels, the brook crosses several roads, including Perrineville Road. Many smaller streams join Cranbury Brook along its path, adding more water to it. It then crosses Union Valley Road and Applegarth Road.

The brook also flows under the New Jersey Turnpike. After this, a dam holds back its water, forming a pretty spot called Brainerd Lake. This lake is in the town of Cranbury. The brook, now part of the lake, crosses Route 130 and South Main Street in Cranbury.

Continuing west, Cranbury Brook flows through the Cranbury Preserve. Here, another stream called Cedar Brook joins it. It then crosses George Davison Avenue. Another dam creates Plainsboro Pond, which is another section of the brook. Finally, after crossing Maple Avenue, Cranbury Brook empties into the Millstone River at 40°19′26″N 74°36′47″W / 40.32389°N 74.61306°W / 40.32389; -74.61306.
