Rocky Brook is a small river, also called a tributary, that flows into the Millstone River in New Jersey, USA. It runs through parts of Monmouth and Mercer counties. This brook is an important part of the larger Raritan River system.

Journey of Rocky Brook

Rocky Brook begins its journey near Perrineville at 40°13′8″N 74°24′37″W / 40.21889°N 74.41028°W / 40.21889; -74.41028. This starting point is often called the headwaters.

Flowing Through Lakes

The brook first flows next to a road called CR-1 (Sweetmans Lane). Then, it empties into a place called Perrineville Lake. After leaving the lake, it continues flowing west into the northern parts of Perrineville Lake Park.

The brook then turns towards the northwest. It crosses Perrineville Road and goes through the Etra Road Open Space area. Next, it crosses Disbrow Hill Road and flows into Etra Lake at 40°15′13″N 74°29′59″W / 40.25361°N 74.49972°W / 40.25361; -74.49972.

Rocky Brook keeps flowing west, following Etra Road. It then passes under the New Jersey Turnpike. After this, it flows into Peddie Lake, which is right in the middle of Hightstown.

Reaching the Millstone River

The brook crosses Route 33 and flows past the Town Center Plaza. It then crosses Route 130 and the Hightstown Bypass. Finally, it flows alongside the East Windsor Open Space Acquisition area before joining the Millstone River at 40°17′18″N 74°32′23″W / 40.28833°N 74.53972°W / 40.28833; -74.53972.
