Darlington's Landscape
Darlington is located in the upper part of the Albert River valley. The river actually splits into two branches here. The land in the north is about 160 meters (525 feet) above sea level. However, some of the highest hills and peaks can reach up to 600 meters (1,968 feet) high.
Mount Alexander is a notable peak in the northeast. From here, a series of ridges stretch out from the Lamington Plateau. The higher, steeper parts of the land are still covered in trees and plants. In the south, where the land is flatter, many areas have been cleared. The Jinbroken Range in the west forms a natural border with nearby areas like Hillview.

- A new Darlington State School opened later, on May 30, 1938.
Another school, Readville Provisional School, also known as Widgee Creek School, opened in 1903. It became a state school on January 1, 1909. But it closed in 1911 because not enough students were attending. The school building was later moved to Barney View in April 1918.
