Desmond Green (born October 11, 1989) is an American mixed martial artist. He used to compete in the lightweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Green is also a bare-knuckle boxer for BYB Extreme Fighting Series. He is currently the BYB Middleweight Champion. He also holds the Police Gazette Diamond Belt.

About Desmond Green
Desmond Green grew up in Rochester, New York. He was a talented wrestler in high school. He won a state championship at Rush–Henrietta Senior High School. After high school, he continued wrestling at the University at Buffalo. There, he became a Mid-American Conference Champion. He also qualified for the NCAA Division 1 tournament three times. Desmond studied social sciences at the university.
Desmond Green is a family man. He has three children. His two daughters are named Tsajelia and Dahlia. He also has a son named Desmond Jr.
Desmond's Fighting Career
Starting in Mixed Martial Arts
Desmond Green began his professional fighting career in 2012. He quickly became known for his skills. In his first year, he won 8 out of 9 fights. Early in 2013, he won the New England Fights lightweight title. He then signed with Bellator MMA, a big fighting organization.
Fighting in Bellator MMA
Desmond joined Bellator MMA in September 2013. He competed in their featherweight tournament. He won some tough fights there. He beat Angelo Sanchez and Mike Richman. He also defeated Will Martinez. However, he lost in the tournament final to Daniel Weichel. After this, he left Bellator in 2014.
Titan Fighting Championship
After Bellator, Desmond joined Titan Fighting Championship. He made a big splash in his first fight. He knocked out Miguel Torres in less than a minute. Later, he fought Steven Siler for the vacant Titan FC Featherweight Championship. Desmond won this fight and became the champion.
He defended his title against Kurt Holobaugh. For this fight, he had to cut his dreadlocks to make the correct weight. He lost the title in a very close decision.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)
In 2017, Desmond Green signed with the UFC. This is one of the biggest MMA organizations. He won his first UFC fight against Josh Emmett. He then faced some tough opponents. He lost to Rustam Khabilov and Michel Prazeres. Prazeres even missed weight for their fight.
Desmond bounced back with a win against Gleison Tibau. He then lost a close fight to Mairbek Taisumov. Taisumov also missed weight for their match. Desmond showed his power by winning against Ross Pearson with a technical knockout. He also beat Charles Jourdain by decision. In January 2020, Desmond left the UFC.
After the UFC
After his time in the UFC, Desmond continued to fight. He won his first fight after the UFC in March 2022. He defeated Piankhi Zimmerman by TKO.
Bare-Knuckle Boxing Career
Desmond Green also competes in bare-knuckle boxing. This is a sport where fighters punch without gloves. He joined BYB Extreme Fighting Series in 2021. He won his first bare-knuckle fight against Jeff Chiffens. In November 2022, he won a big title. He defeated Scott McHugh to become the BYB Middleweight Champion. He also earned the Police Gazette Diamond Belt.
