Develier covers an area of about 12.42 square kilometers (around 4.8 square miles). A big part of this land, almost half (47.4%), is used for farming. This means there are lots of fields and pastures.

Another large part, about 43.2%, is covered by forests. Imagine all those trees! The rest of the land is where buildings and roads are (8.9%), or it's made up of rivers and lakes (0.2%). A tiny bit (0.2%) is land that can't be used for anything.

Most of the forest is dense, meaning lots of trees close together. Some areas also have orchards or small groups of trees. For farming, people grow crops, use land for pastures, and some for alpine pastures (high mountain grazing areas). All the water in Develier is from flowing rivers or streams.

The town is located in the Delemont district. It's on the main road that goes from Delemont to Porrentruy, crossing over a mountain pass called Les Rangiers. Develier includes the main village and a smaller area called Develier-Dessus.

Develier's Coat of Arms

A coat of arms is like a special symbol or logo for a town or family. Develier's coat of arms is red. On it, you can see half of a golden lion standing up, with its tongue sticking out. It looks like the lion is coming out of six golden hills at the bottom.
