Diane Kruger (born 15 July 1976) is a famous German actress and former model. She became well-known around the world for her roles in many popular movies. Early in her career, she received the Trophée Chopard award from the Cannes Film Festival, which is a big honor for new actors.
Kruger is famous for playing characters like Helen in the movie Troy (2004), Dr. Abigail Chase in the adventure film National Treasure (2004) and its sequel National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007). She also played Bridget von Hammersmark in the war film Inglourious Basterds (2009) and Gina in the thriller Unknown (2011). She also starred as Detective Sonya Cross in the TV show The Bridge (2013–14). Her Early Life
Diane Heidkrüger was born on 15 July 1976 in West Germany. She grew up with her younger brother, Stefan. When she was a teenager, her mother sent her to student exchange programs to help her learn English better.
As a child, Diane dreamed of becoming a ballerina. She even got into the famous Royal Ballet School in London. However, a knee injury stopped her ballet career. After that, Kruger moved to Paris, France, where she started working as a model and learned to speak French.

Modeling Career
In 1993, Diane Kruger represented Germany in a big modeling competition called Elite Model Look. After that, she started her modeling career. Even though she was a bit shorter than most models, she worked for many famous fashion brands. These included Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Christian Dior, and Louis Vuitton. She also appeared on the covers of popular magazines like Vogue Paris and Cosmopolitan. Over time, she decided to stop modeling to focus on acting.
Acting Career

Diane Kruger became very interested in acting and took acting classes. She made her first movie in 2002. She then played Julie Wood in Michel Vaillant (2003) and Lisa in Wicker Park (2004).
One of her most famous early roles was playing Helen of Sparta in the epic movie Troy (2004). In the same year, she starred with Nicolas Cage in the adventure film National Treasure. She played Dr. Abigail Chase, a smart historian. She returned as Abigail Chase in the sequel, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, which came out in 2007.
Kruger was chosen to be the host for the opening and closing events of the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. She was also a jury member at the 58th Berlin International Film Festival in 2008, helping to choose the winning films.
In 2009, she starred in Quentin Tarantino's war film Inglourious Basterds. She played Bridget von Hammersmark, a German actress who secretly works as a spy. For this role, she received nominations for important awards.

Diane Kruger can speak German, English, and French very well. She also studied Latin in school for eight years.
Kruger has a fear of horses. She has said that she will not take on any movie roles that require her to ride or be close to horses. This fear comes from a time when she accidentally fell off a horse.
Diane Kruger was married to French actor and director Guillaume Canet from 2001 to 2006. They decided to divorce because their acting careers often kept them in different parts of the world. After that, she was in a relationship with actor Joshua Jackson from 2006 to 2016.
In 2015, Kruger met actor Norman Reedus while working on the movie Sky. They became a couple in 2016. In November 2018, Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus welcomed their daughter.
