Dina Thanthi (which means "Daily Mail" in English) is a very popular newspaper published every day in the Tamil language. Many people also know it as Daily Thanthi. It was started by S. P. Adithanar in Madurai, India, way back in 1942.
Dina Thanthi is the biggest Tamil newspaper in India. It's also one of the top ten newspapers in India when you look at how many copies are sold each day. This newspaper is printed in 16 different cities across India. It even has international editions printed in Dubai and Sri Lanka.

History of Daily Thanthi
Dina Thanthi was first started on November 1, 1942. It was founded in Madurai by a person named S. P. Adithanar. He was a lawyer, a politician, and also an editor.
Where Daily Thanthi is Published
This daily newspaper is printed in many cities across India. Some of these cities include Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, and Mumbai.
It also has special international editions. One is printed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for readers in the Middle East. Another international edition is printed in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This Sri Lankan edition is published along with another Tamil newspaper called Virakesari.
In 2015, the newspaper sold more than 1.7 million copies every day! This shows how many people read Daily Thanthi.
Awards and Helping Students
In 2005, the Indian government gave a special award called the Padma Shri to Sivanthi Adithan. He was the managing director of Dina Thanthi. He received this award for his great work in helping poor students get a better education.
Daily Thanthi also helps students directly. The newspaper gives money to students who do very well in their 10th and 12th-grade exams. They also honor top students from Tamil Nadu every year. These students receive prize money and a gold medal on the birthday of C. Pa. Aditanar, who was a key figure in the newspaper's history.
