Felipe Fraga is a talented Brazilian race car driver. He was born on July 3, 1995. Felipe is known for winning the 2016 Stock Car Brasil Championship and the 2013 Stock Car Light series. He currently races in the Stock Car Pro Series for Blau Motorsport. He also competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Riley Motorsports. Felipe has raced in many different types of events around the world. These include the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Felipe Fraga's Racing Journey
Felipe Fraga started his racing career at a young age. He quickly showed his skill behind the wheel. His journey has taken him through various racing series. He has competed in both open-wheel cars and touring cars. He has also raced in endurance events.
Early Years in Racing
In 2012, Felipe began racing in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. He also competed in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps Series. These series helped him gain experience. He learned how to handle different tracks and racing conditions.
Becoming a Champion in Brazil
Felipe's big break came in 2013. He won the Campeonato Brasileiro de Turismo. This series is also known as Stock Car Light. He won four races and earned six pole positions. This victory showed everyone his potential.
In 2014, Felipe moved up to the main Stock Car Brasil series. He quickly made an impact. He won two races in his first year. This was a great start for a new driver.
Winning the Stock Car Brasil Title
The year 2016 was a huge success for Felipe. He won the 2016 Stock Car Brasil Championship. He took five wins and four pole positions that season. This made him one of the top drivers in Brazil. He continued to be a strong competitor in the series. He finished second in 2018 and fourth in 2019.
International Racing Adventures
Felipe has also raced in international events. He competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship. In 2021, he finished second in the GTE Am class. He also won a race in this championship. He has raced in the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race. In 2021, his team finished second in their class.
He also raced in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) in 2022. This is a very competitive touring car series in Germany. He won one race in DTM.
Racing in North America
Felipe has been very successful in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. He races in the LMP3 class. In 2021, he won four races in this series. He finished fourth in the championship. In 2022, he won three more races. He also won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2022 in the LMP3 class. In 2023, he won three races and finished third in the 12 Hours of Sebring. He is currently racing in the LMP2 class for 2024 and 2025. He finished second in the 2024 championship.
