Fey is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Vaud, within the Gros-de-Vaud area.

History of Fey

Fey is an old settlement. The first time it was ever written about was in the year 1228. Back then, it was known as Fei.

Geography of Fey

Fey covers an area of about 7.35 square kilometers (2.84 square miles). A big part of this land, about 68.4%, is used for farming. This means there are lots of fields and pastures.

Forests cover about 26.4% of Fey's land. The rest of the area, about 5.7%, has buildings and roads. Only a tiny bit, 0.1%, is land that can't be used for anything.

Most of the built-up areas are homes and other buildings. Roads and transport take up a smaller part. The forests in Fey are mostly dense, thick woods.

Fey used to be part of the Echallens District. But on August 31, 2006, it became part of the new Gros-de-Vaud district.

Fey's Coat of Arms

Every town in Switzerland has a special symbol called a coat of arms. Fey's coat of arms is a silver shield with a green beech tree on it. The tree looks like it has been pulled up by its roots. This design is called Argent, a Beech Tree eradicated Vert.
