Finneas Baird O'Connell (born July 30, 1997), known as Finneas, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is also an actor. Finneas has won many awards for his music.
He is famous for writing and producing music for his younger sister, Billie Eilish. He has worked on all of her music projects. For his work with Billie, he has won 10 Grammy Awards. He made history as the youngest person to win the Producer of the Year award.
Finneas and Billie Eilish have won many top Grammy Awards together. These include Record of the Year twice, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Their song "No Time to Die" from the James Bond movie won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. Two years later, their song "What Was I Made For?" also won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. This made them the youngest two-time Academy Award winners ever.
Besides working with Billie Eilish, Finneas has also produced music for other popular artists. These include Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, and Halsey. He has also released his own songs as a solo artist. His first album, Optimist, came out in 2021. His second album, For Cryin' Out Loud!, was released in 2024.
Finneas has also acted in movies and TV shows. He was in the 2013 film Life Inside Out. He also played Alistair in the TV series Glee and appeared on Modern Family.

Finneas O'Connell was born in Los Angeles, California. His parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell, are both actors and musicians. Finneas started writing and producing songs when he was 12 years old. This was after he took a songwriting class with his mother in 2010.
Music Career
Songwriting and Producing for Others
Finneas often writes songs from the perspective of the artist he is working with. He says that his acting experience helps him understand different characters. This helps him write music that fits other singers, especially his sister Billie Eilish. He tries to write songs that she will enjoy singing and connect with.
Finneas wrote the song "Ocean Eyes" for his own band at first. But he gave it to Billie Eilish when her dance teacher needed a song for a dance. They put the song on SoundCloud, and it became very popular. Finneas then helped Billie sign with a music company.
He co-wrote and produced Billie Eilish's first EP, Don't Smile at Me (2017). This EP reached number 14 on the US Billboard 200 chart. He also co-wrote and produced her first album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (2019). This album became number one in the US and UK.
At the 2020 Grammy Awards, Finneas won many awards for his work on Billie's music. He won Producer of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year for "Bad Guy". He also won Album of the Year for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?. He continued to co-write and produce Billie's later albums, Happier Than Ever (2021) and Hit Me Hard and Soft (2024).

Finneas's Solo Music Career
Finneas was the lead singer and songwriter for a band called The Slightlys. His first solo song, "New Girl", was released in 2016. He released several more songs in 2017 and 2018. In early 2019, he performed his first sold-out shows in New York and Los Angeles.
His first EP, Blood Harmony, was released on October 4, 2019. It included popular songs like "I Lost a Friend" and "Let's Fall in Love for the Night". In October 2019, he went on his first tour in the US.
In August 2020, Finneas released a special version of Blood Harmony with two new songs. He also released a single called "What They'll Say About Us". In October 2020, he released "Can't Wait to Be Dead", a song about his feelings towards the internet.
Finneas also sang backing vocals on Ringo Starr's 2021 EP Zoom In. On March 2, 2021, he released a song called "Till Forever Falls Apart" with Ashe.
On August 5, 2021, Finneas announced his first full album, Optimist, which came out on October 15, 2021. He also composed music for the films The Fallout (2021) and Vengeance (2022).
On August 8, 2024, he announced his second album, For Cryin' Out Loud!, which was released on October 4, 2024. He also released the title track as a single that day.

In January 2025, Finneas performed a cover of "Time of the Season" by The Zombies. He started his 2025 tour for For Cryin' Out Loud! in February 2025.

Finneas has appeared in several movies and TV shows. In 2011, he was in the film Bad Teacher. In 2013, he co-starred in Life Inside Out with his mother. He had guest roles on Modern Family and Aquarius. In 2015, he played Alistair in the final season of Glee.
Personal Life
Finneas lives in Los Angeles. He has been in a relationship with YouTuber and actress Claudia Sulewski since September 2018. He even wrote a song called "Claudia" after they met. Finneas was raised vegetarian and later became vegan.
