Gampel is a small, former town in the beautiful Valais canton of Switzerland. It's located in the Leuk district. Don't mix it up with Gampelen, which is another place in Switzerland but in a different canton! Gampel used to be its own town until January 1, 2009. On that day, it joined with a nearby town called Bratsch to form a new, bigger town called Gampel-Bratsch.
