Garfield County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. In 2020, about 1,813 people lived there. The main town and county seat is Burwell.
This county was created in 1884. It was named after James A. Garfield, who was the 20th President of the United States.
When you see a Nebraska license plate, Garfield County is shown by the number 83. This is because it had the 83rd-largest number of vehicles registered in the county back in 1922 when the license plate system started.

The North Loup River flows through the southwestern part of Garfield County.
