A Look at Hersiwil's Past
Hersiwil was first mentioned in official records way back in 1324. For a long time, until 1798, it was linked with Heinrichswil as a "double municipality." Later, Winistorf joined them, forming a "triple municipality" called Hersiwil-Heinrichswil-Winistorf.
However, in 1854, these three towns decided to split up and become separate, independent municipalities. Then, in 1993, Heinrichswil and Winistorf decided to merge again, but Hersiwil chose to remain independent for a while longer. Finally, in 2013, Hersiwil also joined them to form the new municipality of Drei Höfe.

Understanding the Coat of Arms
