Halten is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It's located in the canton of Solothurn, specifically in the Wasseramt district. Halten is a peaceful place with a rich history and a close-knit community.

Halten was first mentioned in official records way back in 1201. Back then, it was known as Haltun. Later, in 1274, its name appeared as Halton.
Geography and Landscape
Halten covers an area of about 1.83 square kilometers (0.71 sq mi). A large part of this area, about 61.2%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 21.3% of the land. The remaining 18.6% is where buildings and roads are located.
Most of the built-up area is made up of houses and other buildings (13.1%). Roads and transportation areas make up 4.4%. There are also parks and sports fields, which cover about 1.1% of the area. The municipality is located in the Wasseramt district.
