About the Movie Hulk

This movie tells the origin story of Bruce Banner. He is a brilliant scientist. An accident in his lab changes his life forever. He is exposed to gamma radiation. After this, he transforms into a huge, green-skinned creature. This happens whenever he feels very angry or stressed.

The U.S. military starts to chase him. They want to capture him. Bruce also has to deal with his biological father. His father has some dark plans for his son.

Making the Film

People started thinking about making a Hulk movie way back in 1990. Many different writers worked on scripts. Directors like Joe Johnston and Jonathan Hensleigh were considered. Eventually, Ang Lee became the director. James Schamus also joined the team.

The movie was filmed mostly in California. This happened from March to August 2002. A lot of the filming took place in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Release and Reception

Hulk was released in theaters on June 20, 2003. It made about $245 million around the world. This made it one of the highest-grossing films of 2003.

Critics had different opinions about the movie. The website Rotten Tomatoes said it was an ambitious and stylish film. However, some thought it had too much talking and not enough action.

A sequel to Hulk was planned at first. But instead, they decided to make a new movie called The Incredible Hulk. This new film came out on June 13, 2008. It was the second movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
