Jay Ward Productions, Inc. is an American animation studio. It is sometimes called Ward Productions for short. The studio is located in Costa Mesa, California. It was started in 1948 by an American animator named Jay Ward.

Today, Jay Ward's daughter, Tiffany Ward, leads the studio as president. Her daughter, Amber Ward, is the vice president. Before 2022, another company called Bullwinkle Studios helped manage Jay Ward's cartoon characters. Bullwinkle Studios was a partnership between Jay Ward Productions and DreamWorks Animation.

History of Jay Ward Productions

The company first started in West Hollywood, California. Its office was on the famous Sunset Strip.

How Jay Ward Productions Works Today

By 2002, Jay Ward Productions teamed up with Classic Media. They created a joint company called Bullwinkle Studios LLC. This new company helped manage all the famous Jay Ward characters.

One of the first shows from Bullwinkle Studios was George of the Jungle. This show was made with Studio B Productions. It first aired on Teletoon and later on Cartoon Network. Tiffany Ward, Jay Ward's daughter, is the president of both Ward Productions and Bullwinkle Studios.

In 2012, DreamWorks Animation bought Classic Media. Then, in 2016, NBCUniversal bought DreamWorks Animation.

On February 3, 2022, Jay Ward Productions made a new agreement with WildBrain. This deal allows WildBrain to create new cartoons based on Jay Ward's characters. WildBrain also gained the right to distribute all of Jay Ward Productions' older shows. However, DreamWorks still distributes the shows they helped create.
