Josh Duhamel (born November 14, 1972) is an American actor. He started his career as a model before becoming famous in TV shows and movies.
He first became well-known for playing Leo du Pres in the TV show All My Children. Later, he starred as Danny McCoy in the show Las Vegas. Josh Duhamel has also been in many popular films. He played Captain William Lennox in four of the Transformers movies.
Besides movies, he has acted in TV series like Jupiter's Legacy and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. He has also lent his voice and acting to video games, including Call of Duty: WWII and The Callisto Protocol.

Early Life and Education
Josh Duhamel was born in Minot, North Dakota. His mother, Bonnie, was a teacher and businesswoman. His father, Larry, worked in advertising. Josh grew up in a Catholic family.
His parents divorced when he was young. He was raised by his mother and stepfather. Josh has a younger sister and two younger half-sisters. After finishing Minot High School in 1991, he went to Minot State University. He played as a backup quarterback for the university's football team. He originally planned to become a dentist. However, he left college just before getting his degree. He later finished his studies and earned his degree in 2005.
Acting Career Highlights
After college, Josh Duhamel moved to northern California. He worked many different jobs there. In 1997, he won a competition called Male Model of the Year. Another famous actor, Ashton Kutcher, was the runner-up in the same competition.
Early Acting Roles
Josh Duhamel started his acting career in 1999. He appeared as an extra in music videos for Donna Summer and Christina Aguilera. Later that year, he got the role of Leo du Pres in the TV show All My Children. His character's story with Greenlee Smythe became very popular.
In 2002, he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role as Leo du Pres. He left All My Children in 2002 to find new acting opportunities.
Moving to Primetime TV and Movies
In 2003, Duhamel got a main role in the NBC show Las Vegas. He played Danny McCoy, the head of security for a casino. The show ran until 2008.
His first big movie role was in 2004 in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!. He then starred in the thriller Turistas in 2006. After seeing him in Las Vegas, director Steven Spielberg chose him for the movie Transformers. Josh played Captain William Lennox in the 2007 blockbuster film. He returned for three more Transformers movies: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), and Transformers: The Last Knight (2017).
Recent Projects
In 2010, he played the main role in the movie When in Rome. In 2014, he starred in the drama You're Not You. In this film, he played the husband of a character with ALS.
Josh Duhamel hosted the 2013 Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles. In 2016, he appeared in the TV miniseries 11.22.63. In 2018, he was in the romantic comedy-drama film Love, Simon.
In 2019, he was cast as Sheldon Sampson in the Netflix superhero series Jupiter's Legacy. The show premiered in May 2021. In 2022, he starred with Jennifer Lopez in the movie Shotgun Wedding. He also joined the second season of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers as Coach Colin Cole.
In September 2022, his film Bandit was released. Critics praised his performance in the movie.
Other Activities
In 2005, Josh Duhamel became a co-owner of a restaurant in his hometown, Minot, North Dakota. He is also a spokesperson for North Dakota tourism. He has appeared in many videos promoting the state. In 2022, he became the official face of North Dakota's tourism campaign for two years.
Personal Life
Josh Duhamel married singer Stacy Ann Ferguson, known as Fergie, in 2009. They had a son in August 2013. The couple announced their separation in 2017 and finalized their divorce in 2019.
In late 2018, Duhamel started dating Audra Mari. They got engaged in January 2022 and married in September 2022. In September 2023, they announced they were expecting their first child together. Their son was born in January 2024. Josh has said that he and Audra both love living near lakes in North Dakota.
Josh Duhamel is a practicing Catholic and goes to church regularly. He also supports Doug Burgum, the governor of North Dakota. In 2023, he endorsed Burgum for president.
Duhamel owns two cabins in Minnesota. He has said that he enjoys returning to North Dakota. He feels his lake house is a place where he can truly be himself.
Recognition
In 2012, Josh Duhamel was honored by the Scandinavian-American Hall of Fame. In May 2022, Minot State University named their Summer Theatre stage the "Josh Duhamel Stage" in his honor.
