Josh Duhamel (born November 14, 1972) is an American actor. He started his career as a model before becoming famous for his acting roles.
You might know him from TV shows like All My Children and Las Vegas. He also played a big part in four of the Transformers movies, where he was Captain William Lennox. Josh Duhamel has also appeared in many other films, including When in Rome, Life as We Know It, and Love, Simon. He has also lent his voice to characters in video games like Call of Duty: WWII and The Callisto Protocol. In 2021, he starred in the Netflix superhero series Jupiter's Legacy.

Early Life and Education
Josh Duhamel was born in Minot, North Dakota. His mom, Bonnie, was a teacher and businesswoman. His dad, Larry, worked in advertising. Josh grew up with his mom and his three younger sisters after his parents divorced.
After finishing Minot High School in 1991, Josh went to Minot State University. He played football there as a backup quarterback for the university's team. He first planned to become a dentist, but he left college just before getting his degree. He later went back and finished his studies in 2005.
Acting Career Highlights
After college, Josh Duhamel moved to northern California and worked different jobs. In 1997, he won a big modeling competition called Male Model of the Year. Another famous actor, Ashton Kutcher, was the runner-up in that same competition!
Josh started his acting career by appearing as an extra in music videos, like "Genie in a Bottle" by Christina Aguilera. In 1999, he got his first big acting role as Leo du Pres in the TV soap opera All My Children. His acting on the show was very popular, and he even won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2002 for his role.
In 2003, Josh got a main role in the NBC show Las Vegas. He played Danny McCoy, who was in charge of security at a big casino. This show ran until 2008.
His first major movie role was in 2004 in Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!. Then, in 2007, he was chosen by director Steven Spielberg to play Captain William Lennox in the huge movie Transformers. He played this role again in three more Transformers movies: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), and Transformers: The Last Knight (2017).
Josh also hosted the 2013 Kids' Choice Awards! In 2014, he starred in the emotional movie You're Not You, playing the husband of a woman with a serious illness called ALS. In 2018, he appeared in the popular movie Love, Simon. He also played a main role in the Netflix superhero series Jupiter's Legacy in 2021. More recently, in 2022, he joined the cast of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers for its second season. His film Bandit, based on a true story, was released in 2022 and received good reviews.
Other Activities
Besides acting, Josh Duhamel is also a businessman. In 2005, he became a co-owner of a restaurant in his hometown of Minot, North Dakota.
He also helps promote tourism for his home state of North Dakota. He has appeared in videos to encourage people to visit the state.
Personal Life
Josh Duhamel met singer Fergie in 2004 when her band, The Black Eyed Peas, appeared on his TV show Las Vegas. They got married in 2009 and had a son in August 2013. They later separated in 2017 and finalized their divorce in 2019.
In 2018, Josh started dating former Miss World America, Audra Mari. They got engaged in 2022 and married in September 2022. In 2023, they announced they were expecting their first child together, and their son was born in January 2024. Josh has said that he and Audra both love North Dakota and spending time at the lake.
Josh is a practicing Catholic and goes to church regularly. He also supports his friends in their careers. For example, he supported Doug Burgum, the Governor of North Dakota, in his run for president in 2024.
Josh owns two cabins in Minnesota. He has said that as he gets older, he wants to spend more time back in North Dakota, where he feels he can truly be himself.
Recognition and Awards
In 2012, Josh Duhamel was honored by being inducted into the Scandinavian-American Hall of Fame. This is a special event that celebrates people with Scandinavian heritage. In 2022, Minot State University, where he went to college, named their Summer Theatre stage the "Josh Duhamel Stage" to honor him.
