Küttigkofen was once a small town, or municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Bucheggberg district, in the canton of Solothurn. On January 1, 2014, Küttigkofen joined with several other towns. These towns merged to form a new, larger municipality called Buchegg.

A Glimpse into Küttigkofen's Past
Küttigkofen has a long history. The town was first mentioned in official records in the year 1316. Back then, it was known by a slightly different name: obrenchúttenkouen.
Understanding Küttigkofen's Geography
Before it merged, Küttigkofen covered an area of about 2.2 square kilometers (0.85 square miles). A large part of this land, about 61%, was used for farming. This means people grew crops or raised animals there.
About 31.5% of the area was covered by forests. The remaining land, about 8.5%, had buildings and roads. A very small part, 0.5%, was made up of rivers or lakes.
The town was located in the Bucheggberg district. It sat at the end of the Müli valley. Küttigkofen included the main village and a few smaller settlements spread out.

The official symbol, or blazon, for Küttigkofen's coat of arms is quite interesting. It shows a green beech tree with roots, set against a gold background. Above the tree, in a blue section, there are six silver doves flying to the right.
