Kyburg-Buchegg was a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the canton of Solothurn. On January 1, 2014, Kyburg-Buchegg and several other towns joined together. They all became part of a new, larger municipality called Buchegg.

History of Kyburg-Buchegg
Kyburg-Buchegg is a very old place. The first time it was ever written about was in the year 1175. Back then, it was called Ernaldus de Boucecca.
Geography of Kyburg-Buchegg
Before it merged, Kyburg-Buchegg was about 1.6 square kilometers (0.6 square miles) in size. A big part of this land, about 63%, was used for farming. About 25% of the land was covered by forests.
The town itself, with its buildings and roads, made up about 12.5% of the area. A small part, less than 2%, was rivers or lakes.
Kyburg-Buchegg included two main villages: Kyburg and Buchegg. Kyburg was on the eastern side, near the Limpach valley. Buchegg was located a bit lower, on a flat area west of Buchegg Castle.
