Karlskrona Municipality (called Karlskrona kommun in Swedish) is a local government area in southern Sweden. It is part of Blekinge County. This municipality shares its borders with Emmaboda Municipality, Torsås Municipality, and Ronneby Municipality. The main city and administrative center of the municipality is Karlskrona.
This municipality was formed in the early 1970s. It brought together several smaller towns and rural areas, including the original City of Karlskrona. This was part of a big change in how local governments were organized across Sweden.
