Keith Ramon Bogans (born May 12, 1980) is an American former basketball player. He also worked as an assistant coach for the New York Knicks. Bogans played college basketball for the University of Kentucky. He was known for his strong defense during his time in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Early Life and College Basketball Career
Keith Bogans went to DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland. He was a top player in high school. In his senior year, he was named an All-American. His team had an amazing 34 wins and only 1 loss.
Bogans then played college basketball at the University of Kentucky. He was a starter for all four years. In his final year, he led his team to a perfect 16-0 record in the Southeastern Conference. They also won the SEC Tournament title.
His college team made it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament. Bogans was named an All-American in his senior year. He averaged 15.7 points per game. He was also good at shooting three-pointers. In 2014, he was honored by being added to the University of Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame.
Professional Basketball Journey
Starting with the Orlando Magic
In 2003, Keith Bogans was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA draft. He was the 43rd pick overall. But on the same day, he was traded to the Orlando Magic. In his first year, he started in about half of the games he played. He averaged 6.8 points per game.
Playing for the Charlotte Bobcats
In 2004, the Magic traded Bogans to the Charlotte Bobcats. He continued to improve his game there. During the 2004–05 season, he started in 42 games. He averaged 9.6 points per game for the Bobcats.
Short Time with the Houston Rockets
In 2006, Bogans was traded again, this time to the Houston Rockets. He joined some of his old college teammates there.
Back with the Orlando Magic
Bogans returned to the Orlando Magic in July 2006. He signed with them as a free agent. In 2008, he broke his thumb during a game. But he recovered quickly and was back on the court in a few weeks.
Joining the Milwaukee Bucks Again
In 2009, Bogans was traded back to the Milwaukee Bucks. This was the team that first drafted him. He played 29 games for the Bucks before moving on.
Playing for the San Antonio Spurs
Bogans signed with the San Antonio Spurs in September 2009. He played one season with the Spurs. He started in 50 of the 79 games he played.
Time with the Chicago Bulls
Bogans joined the Chicago Bulls in August 2010. He was a starter for the Bulls during the 2010–11 season. Even though his scoring numbers were not very high, his coach praised his defense. Bogans was known for making it tough for opponents to score.
He helped the Bulls win many games. In March 2011, he scored a season-high 17 points. This helped the Bulls become the top team in their conference. The Bulls made it to the Eastern Conference Finals that year. Bogans started in all their playoff games. In December 2011, the Bulls decided to release him.
With the New Jersey / Brooklyn Nets

In February 2012, Bogans signed with the New Jersey Nets. He got injured shortly after joining the team. He was waived, but he re-signed with the Nets in July 2012. He played in 74 games during the 2012–13 season.
Final NBA Stop with the Boston Celtics
In July 2013, Bogans was traded to the Boston Celtics. This was part of a big trade involving several star players. His last NBA game was in January 2014. He later left the team for personal reasons.
Playing in the NBA Development League
In 2016, Bogans joined the Westchester Knicks. This team is part of the NBA Development League (now called the G League). He played a few games for them.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Keith Bogans became a coach. In October 2017, he was hired as an assistant coach for the Westchester Knicks. Later, in December 2019, he was promoted. He became an assistant coach for the New York Knicks in the NBA. In 2022, he joined the Detroit Pistons as a player-development assistant coach.
