Lavaca County is a county in the state of Texas, USA. It was created in 1846. The county is named after the Lavaca River. This river flows southeast through towns like Moulton and Hallettsville. It eventually reaches the coast at Matagorda Bay.
In 2020, about 20,337 people lived in Lavaca County. The main town and county seat is Hallettsville.
