Egypt has a long and fascinating history, and for many centuries, it was ruled by different leaders. This article tells you about the important governors and sultans who led Egypt from the time of the early Arab rule (around 640 AD) through the Mamluk period (ending in 1517). Early Muslim Rulers (640–661)

Mamluk Sultanate (1250–1517)
