Early Days and Development

In 1864, a big flood on the Logan River caused some serious problems. A few years later, in 1871, the first post office in the area opened. This was a key step in connecting the community. A hotel and a stop for the Cobb and Co coach service were also set up around this time.

By 1876, there was a way to cross the Logan River to Waterford. Loganlea was once part of the Shire of Tingalpa, a local government area.

Railway and Farming Era

The Loganlea railway station first opened in April 1885. This was part of the South Coast railway line. Later that same year, a bridge was built across the Logan River, making travel even easier.

In the mid-1900s, Loganlea was known for its dairy farms. Families like the Armstrongs ran farms, such as Riverdale, until the 1970s.

Modern Growth

New houses started to be built in Loganlea during the 1970s and 1980s. Loganlea State High School welcomed its first students on January 27, 1981.
