Lucas Eguibar has achieved a lot in his snowboarding career. He has won 5 World Cup events and stood on the podium 18 times in total.

Early Wins and First Podiums

In the 2011-2012 season, Lucas won the Europa Cup. This was an important step in his early career. In 2013, he won a gold medal at the FIS Junior World Championships in Erzurum, Turkey. This showed he was a rising star.

His first time on a World Cup podium was in Arosa, Switzerland, on March 9, 2013, where he finished third. He got another second-place podium finish in Vallnord-Arcalís, Andorra, in January 2014.

Making History: First World Cup Victory

Lucas made history on March 14, 2015, in Veysonnaz, Switzerland. He won his first World Cup event, becoming the first Spanish snowboarder ever to win a World Cup.

He continued his success by winning the overall 2014-2015 FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup. This meant he won the "Cristal Globe," a special trophy for the best snowboarder of the season. He was the first Spanish snowboarder to achieve this! The next season, he finished third overall.

Olympic Games Experiences

Lucas first competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He did very well, winning all his early races. However, in the semi-final, he had a fall and couldn't finish the race as planned. He still managed to win the small final, finishing 7th overall in his first Olympics.

He also competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, where he again finished 7th.
