Luka Jović (Serbian Cyrillic: Лука Јовић) was born on December 23, 1997. He is a professional footballer from Serbia. Luka plays as a striker, which means he focuses on scoring goals. He also plays for the Serbia national team.

Early Life and Football Start
Luka Jović was born in Loznica, which was part of FR Yugoslavia at the time. He grew up in a small village called Batar. His parents are Milan and Svetlana Jović.
Luka started playing football when he was just five years old in Loznica. In 2004, when he was seven, he was noticed by scouts. He was invited to play in Mini Maxi, a special league for young players in Belgrade. After scoring three goals in just one game, his father was offered money for each game Luka played. This also covered his travel costs from Batar to Belgrade.
At one of these games, a scout from Red Star Belgrade named Toma Milićević saw him play. Luka was invited to try out for Red Star Belgrade. People compared his playing style to famous footballers like Darko Pančev and Radamel Falcao. Falcao was also Luka's idol.

Youth Team Years
Luka Jović joined the Red Star Belgrade youth team in 2005. He spent many years developing his skills there.
First Team Debut and Records
On May 28, 2014, Luka made his first professional appearance for Red Star Belgrade. He was only 16 years old. In this game against FK Vojvodina, he scored a goal just two minutes after coming on as a substitute. This made him the youngest goal scorer in the club's history, breaking a record held by Dejan Stanković. The game ended in a 3–3 draw, which helped Red Star win the Serbian SuperLiga title for the 2013–14 season.
Youngest in the Eternal Derby
On October 18, 2014, Luka became the youngest player to ever play in the famous Eternal Derby. This is a big match between Red Star and their rivals. He was 16 years, 9 months, and 25 days old. He scored six goals in the spring part of the 2014–15 season. He signed a new contract with Red Star in May 2015, keeping him with the club until 2018.
Strong Start in 2015–16
At the start of the 2015–16 season, Luka was a key player in Red Star's attack. He scored three goals in his first five games. He also scored winning goals in important matches against Voždovac and Spartak.
Moving to Benfica
In February 2016, Luka Jović signed with Benfica, a top club in Portugal. He played for Benfica's reserve team, Benfica B, making his debut in March. Soon after, he also played for Benfica's main team. He made only a few appearances for the first team during his time there.
Loan to Eintracht Frankfurt
Winning the DFB-Pokal
In June 2017, Luka joined Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany on a two-year loan. His new club also had the option to sign him permanently. He played five games as Eintracht Frankfurt won the 2017–18 DFB-Pokal, which is a major German cup. He scored the only goal in the semi-finals against Schalke 04.
Record-Breaking Season
The 2018–19 season was amazing for Luka. On October 19, 2018, he became the youngest player to score five goals in a single Bundesliga game. This happened in a huge 7–1 win against Fortuna Düsseldorf.
In the Europa League, he scored a crucial goal against Inter Milan in March 2019. This helped Eintracht become the first German club to win eight games in one season in that competition. Eintracht Frankfurt then decided to sign him permanently in April 2019. He scored ten goals in total in the Europa League that season.
Playing for Real Madrid

On June 4, 2019, Luka Jović signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid, one of the biggest clubs in the world. He made his debut on August 17, 2019. His first goal for the club came on October 30, 2019, in a 5–0 win against CD Leganés.
Luka helped Real Madrid win the 2019–20 Supercopa de España in January 2020, which was his first trophy with the club. He also played a part in Real Madrid winning the 2019–20 La Liga title that season.
Return to Eintracht Frankfurt (Loan)
On January 14, 2021, Luka was loaned back to Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the 2020–21 season. In his very first game back, he came off the bench and scored two goals, helping Frankfurt win 3–1 against Schalke.
Time at Fiorentina
On July 8, 2022, Luka joined Serie A club Fiorentina in Italy. In his only season there, he scored 13 goals in 50 games.
Joining AC Milan
On September 1, 2023, Luka Jović signed with AC Milan. He scored his first goal for Milan on December 2, 2023, in a 3–1 home win against Frosinone. As of June 29, 2025, Milan confirmed that Luka Jović left the club.

Youth Teams
Scoring for Serbia U-17 and U-19
On December 11, 2013, Luka scored three goals (a hat-trick) for the Serbia U-17 team in a 4–1 win against Croatia U-17. In July 2014, he was called up to the Serbia U-19 squad for the 2014 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
Senior National Team
First World Cup and Goal
In May 2018, Luka was chosen for Serbia's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He made his first international appearance on June 4 in a friendly match against Chile. He was also part of the final 23-man squad for the World Cup. On March 20, 2019, Luka scored his first goal for the national team in a friendly game against Germany.
Second World Cup and Euro Debut
In November 2022, he was selected for Serbia's squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He played in group matches against Cameroon and Switzerland.
Luka was also part of the Serbia squad for UEFA Euro 2024. In their second match against Slovenia, he scored a last-minute goal that tied the game 1–1.
Personal Life
When Luka Jović was 10 years old, his older sister survived leukemia. He has said that this experience taught him to be a "fighter."
Luka has three children. His first son, David, was born in February 2019. He also has two sons, Aleksej (born 2020) and Teodor (born 2022), with Serbian model Sofija Milošević.
