Morven Christie was born in Helensburgh, Scotland. She grew up in Glasgow. She decided to leave school when she was 15 years old. Morven then went to the Drama Centre London. There, she studied a special acting style called method acting. Her teacher was Reuven Adiv, who worked with a famous acting coach named Lee Strasberg. When she was a child, her family often went on holidays to Aviemore. She learned to ski there by the time she was five years old.
