Exploring Mount French's Geography

Mount French Peaks

The two highest points of Mount French are:

  • Mount French (South Peak), also called Punchagin, which is 598 meters (1,962 feet) high.

The western side of Mount French is mostly wild bushland. The eastern side is lower, around 200 to 280 meters (660 to 920 feet) high. This part is mainly used for grazing animals.

Water Flow and Roads

Mount French acts like a natural dividing line for water. Creeks on the west side flow into the Bremer River. Creeks on the east side flow into the Logan River. Mount French Road runs through the middle of the area, connecting to Boonah and Dugandan in the east. It also leads to the national park and the North Peak.
