About 23 miles north of Pioche, you can find the remains of Bristol Wells. This was once a busy mining town. Many towns popped up in Nevada during the mining booms, and Bristol Wells is an example of one of these historic sites. You can still see old structures like charcoal kilns, which were used to make charcoal for the mining operations. It was listed on the National Register on March 24, 1972.

Located on North Main Street in Pioche, this building has a long and interesting history. It was known as Brown's Hall and later as Thompson's Opera House. The Caliente Railroad Depot, found at 100 Depot Avenue in Caliente, is a beautiful old train station. Train depots were super important in the past because they were the main way people and goods traveled across the country. This depot would have been a bustling place, with trains arriving and departing, connecting Caliente to other towns. It was listed on the National Register on March 5, 1974.

Before the 1938 courthouse, there was an even older one! This original Lincoln County Courthouse, built in 1872, is on Lacour Street in Pioche. It's famous for being incredibly expensive to build, costing nearly $80,000 at a time when most courthouses cost much less. This was partly due to the high cost of materials and labor in the remote mining town. It's a reminder of Pioche's wild early days. It joined the National Register on February 23, 1978.

Panaca Summit Archeological District

This special area near Panaca is an "archeological district." This means it contains many important clues about ancient human activity, like tools, campsites, or other artifacts. Archeologists study these sites to learn about how people lived thousands of years ago. Like other sensitive sites, its exact location is restricted to protect its valuable history. It was added to the National Register on March 19, 1990.

Pioche Firehouse

The Pioche Firehouse is located north of Main Street and Lacour in Pioche. Firehouses are important community buildings that protect towns from fires. This historic firehouse would have housed the equipment and perhaps even the volunteer firefighters who kept Pioche safe in its early days. It was recognized for its historical importance and added to the National Register on February 5, 2018.

Smith Hotel-Cornelius Hotel

The Smith Hotel, also known as the Cornelius Hotel, is at 100 Spring Street in Caliente. Hotels like this were vital for travelers, especially those arriving by train at the nearby depot.
