Nina Lindberg Nesbitt (born 11 July 1994) is a Scottish singer and songwriter. She is famous for her hit songs "Stay Out" and "Selfies", which were popular in the UK and Scotland. Many people also know her for her cover of Fleetwood Mac's song "Don't Stop", which was used in a TV ad for the department store John Lewis.
Nesbitt's first album, Peroxide, came out in 2014 and went straight to number one in Scotland. Her next albums, The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change (2019) and Älskar (2022), were also very successful. In 2024, she started her own record label, Apple Tree Records. She released her fourth album, Mountain Music, which critics loved.
Besides her own music, Nesbitt has written songs for other artists like Jessie Ware, Olivia Holt, and the Shires. She has also performed as a supporting act for famous musicians such as Stevie Nicks, Justin Bieber, and Lewis Capaldi.

Early Life and Interests
Nina Nesbitt was born on 11 July 1994, in Livingston, Scotland. Her father is Scottish, and her mother is Swedish. When she was 12, her family moved to Balerno, a part of Edinburgh.
Nesbitt plays the guitar, piano, and flute. She started playing the guitar when she was 15. After listening to Taylor Swift's album Fearless, she was inspired to post videos of herself singing on YouTube. The positive comments she received encouraged her to keep writing and recording songs.
Before she focused on music, Nesbitt was a talented gymnast. She competed for Scotland and was even part of the team training for the Commonwealth Games. She also did some modeling as a teenager because she loved fashion.
Music Career
2011–2013: Getting Started
Nesbitt's music career took off after she met the musician Ed Sheeran. She played a song for him on his guitar, and he was so impressed that he invited her to be a supporting act on his European tour. She also supported the musician Example on tour.
In 2012, she released an EP (a short album) called The Apple Tree. It became very popular on iTunes, which helped more people discover her music. Soon after, she signed with the record label Island Records. She released more EPs, including Stay Out in 2013. The main song from that EP reached number 21 on the UK music charts.
2013–2017: First Album Peroxide
On 17 February 2014, Nesbitt released her first full album, Peroxide. It was a huge success in her home country, reaching number 1 on the Scottish album charts. The album's main single, "Selfies", was also a hit.
In 2016, Nesbitt released a new EP called Modern Love. She also started a project called Songs I Wrote for You. She asked fans to send her their personal stories, and she turned them into songs. These songs were released on an EP called Life in Colour.
2016–2019: The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change

In 2016, Nesbitt became an independent artist and signed with a new label, Cooking Vinyl. In 2017, she performed as a supporting act for Justin Bieber at a big concert in London.
Her song "The Best You Had" became very popular after Taylor Swift added it to her personal playlist. This brought Nesbitt a lot of new fans.
On 1 February 2019, she released her second album, The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change. Critics and fans loved it. The album included popular songs like "Somebody Special" and "Loyal to Me". To support the album, she went on tour across North America, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand.
2020–Present: Älskar and Mountain Music
Nesbitt released her third album, Älskar, on 2 September 2022. The title is a Swedish word for "love," which connects to her Swedish heritage. The album features songs like "When You Lose Someone" and "Dinner Table".
In 2024, Nesbitt took a big step in her career by starting her own record label, called Apple Tree Records. Her fourth album, Mountain Music, was released on this label on 27 September 2024. The album received great reviews and was a success on the music charts. In July 2024, she was the opening act for rock legend Stevie Nicks during her UK concerts.
Helping Others
Nesbitt has used her fame to support good causes. She was part of a fundraising event for the charity mothers2mothers, which helps mothers and children in Africa. She has also spoken at the Women in the World Summit about the importance of having a positive body image.
Personal Life
Nesbitt was in a relationship with singer Ed Sheeran in 2012. Her first album, Peroxide, has songs that were inspired by their time together. Sheeran also wrote songs about her, including "Nina" and "Photograph".
Nesbitt is now in a relationship with Mike Duce from the band Lower Than Atlantis. Some of her more recent songs, like "Summer Fling" and "Colours of You," are about him. During the COVID-19 lockdown, she got a Pomeranian dog named Timmy.
