Olivia Holt, born on August 5, 1997, is a talented American actress and singer. You might know her from her roles in popular TV shows and movies. She starred in the Disney XD series Kickin' It and the Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster. She also played a main character in the Disney Channel series I Didn't Do It.
Later, Olivia took on the role of Tandy Bowen, also known as Dagger, in the Freeform series Cloak & Dagger. She even appeared as Dagger in the animated Spider-Man series and the Hulu show Runaways. In 2021, she played Kate Wallis in the exciting series Cruel Summer.
Besides acting, Olivia has lent her voice to animated films like Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast (2014) and Gnome Alone (2017). She has also starred in movies such as Class Rank (2017), Same Kind of Different as Me (2017), and Status Update (2018). Her first music collection, called Olivia, came out in 2016. In 2023, Olivia made her debut on Broadway, playing Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago.

Olivia's Early Life
Olivia Holt was born in Germantown, Tennessee. Her parents are Mark and Kim Holt, and she has two siblings. When she was three years old, her family moved to Nesbit, Mississippi, where she grew up. Before that, they lived briefly in Memphis, Tennessee.
Growing up, Olivia spent seven years taking gymnastics classes. In 2011, her family moved to Los Angeles so she could pursue her acting career. She was homeschooled for some time but later graduated from Oak Park High School in 2015.
Olivia's Career Journey
Television Roles
Olivia started her acting journey in local theater plays. When she was 10, she began appearing in TV commercials for popular brands like Hasbro, Mattel, and Bratz dolls.
Because of her gymnastics skills, Olivia was chosen for the Disney XD martial arts comedy show Kickin' It. The show first aired on June 13, 2011. She played the character Kim and was a main part of the show for the first three seasons. She also returned as a special guest in three episodes of season four.
In 2012, Olivia starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster. She played Skylar Lewis, a teenager who finds out her family has a long history of hunting monsters. She learns that she is next in line to continue this tradition.
After Kickin' It, Olivia became the star of the Disney Channel comedy series I Didn't Do It. This show premiered on January 17, 2014. In it, Olivia played Lindy Watson, a smart and athletic character. The series followed five friends and ended in October 2015 after two seasons.
In 2017, Olivia was cast as Tandy Bowen, also known as Dagger, in the Freeform and Marvel Comics TV series Cloak & Dagger. This show started in June 2018 and ran for two seasons. Olivia and her co-star, Aubrey Joseph, also played their characters in the animated Spider-Man series and a special crossover episode in Runaways.
More recently, Olivia plays Kate Wallis in the series Cruel Summer. This show is a psychological thriller that takes place between 1993 and 1995. It first aired on Freeform on April 20, 2021.
Film Appearances
In November 2014, Olivia joined the cast of the drama film Same Kind of Different as Me. In this movie, she played the daughter of characters played by Greg Kinnear and Renée Zellweger. The film was released in October 2017.
In November 2015, it was announced that Olivia would have a lead role in the independent comedy Class Rank. This movie was directed by Eric Stoltz. In May 2016, she was cast alongside Ross Lynch in the film Status Update. Filming for Status Update began the following month in Vancouver, Canada.
Theatre Performances
Olivia has also performed on stage. From December 10, 2014, to January 4, 2015, she played Aurora in Sleeping Beauty and Her Winter Knight at the Pasadena Playhouse.
Later, from April 10 to June 4, 2023, Olivia took on the role of Roxie Hart in the famous musical Chicago on Broadway.
Music Career
Olivia recorded three songs for the 2012 movie Girl vs. Monster, where she was also an actress. These songs were part of a music collection called Make Your Mark: Ultimate Playlist. She even won a Radio Disney Music Award in 2013 for "Best Crush Song" for her song "Had Me @ Hello," which was in the movie. She also recorded a cover of "Winter Wonderland" for the 2012 Disney Channel Holiday Playlist album. Her song "Carry On" was the theme song for the 2014 Disneynature film Bears.
In October 2014, Olivia signed a music deal with Hollywood Records. Her first single, "Phoenix," was released on May 13, 2016. The music video for "Phoenix" came out on June 23, 2016. Her first collection of songs, an EP titled Olivia, was released on July 15, 2016.
In 2016, Olivia went on her first music tour, called the Rise of a Phoenix Tour. She performed with other artists like Ryland Lynch, Isac Elliot, and Forever in Your Mind. She also performed at the 2016 TJ Martell Family Foundation Day in Los Angeles.
In April 2017, she was chosen as Elvis Duran's "Artist of the Month." She appeared on NBC's Today show, where she performed her song "History." Her single "Generous" was released on September 22, 2017. This song reached number 1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. In 2018, she worked with DJs Martin Jensen on "16 Steps" and Nicky Romero on "Distance." That same year, she released another single called "Bad Girlfriend."
Her 2020 song "Love U Again," featuring R3hab, reached number 40 on the Billboard Hot Dance / Electronic Songs chart. She followed this with "Take Me Out of It" later that year. In early 2021, she released the singles "Do You Miss Me" and "Love On You." She also covered the The Smashing Pumpkins song "Today" for her TV series Cruel Summer. On June 11, 2021, a collection of her previously released singles, called "In My Feelings," was released. On June 25, 2021, she released the single "Next," which she co-wrote with Meghan Trainor.
Olivia Holt left Hollywood Records in November 2021.
Brand Partnerships
In 2013, Olivia partnered with PlayMG, a company that makes mobile gaming systems. She became a spokesperson and part owner, helping them create new app-based games. In March 2016, she was announced as a brand ambassador for Neutrogena, a well-known skincare company.
