Old Trafford is a lively area, or suburb, located near Stretford in Greater Manchester, England. It is part of the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford. This means it's a local government area within a larger county. Old Trafford is about two miles (3.2 km) southwest of Manchester city centre.

The area's boundaries are generally marked by two old toll gates that used to collect money from travelers. These are Brooks's Bar to the east and Trafford Bar tram stop to the west.

Getting Around Old Trafford

The two famous stadiums are at opposite ends of some important roads. These roads include Brian Statham Way and Sir Matt Busby Way. Brian Statham Way used to be called Warwick Road. Sir Matt Busby Way was once known as Warwick Road North. The road that runs between the stadiums is still called Warwick Road. The part of the road on the other side of the Metrolink tram line is known as Warwick Road South.
