Ozan Tufan is a talented Turkish professional footballer born on March 23, 1995. He plays as a midfielder for the Süper Lig club Trabzonspor. Ozan also plays for the Turkey national team. His main position is an attacking midfielder, but he can also play as a striker or a right winger.

Ozan's Club Journey

Playing for Watford

On August 19, 2021, Ozan Tufan moved outside Turkey for the first time. He joined Watford, a club in the Premier League, on a temporary loan deal. This meant he played for Watford for a season, with an option for them to buy him later. However, on February 2, 2022, his loan ended early. Ozan returned to Turkey after playing only nine games for Watford. Watford's Academy Manager, Omer Riza, later mentioned that Ozan found it hard to get used to the fast pace of the Premier League.

Time at Hull City

On July 1, 2022, Ozan Tufan signed with Hull City, a club in the EFL Championship. He signed a three-year contract, and the club had the option to extend it for another year. Ozan played his first game for Hull City, nicknamed the Tigers, on July 30, 2022. It was a home match against Bristol City, and he scored a penalty kick to tie the score.

Ozan scored his first three goals in one game, known as a hat-trick, for Hull City on August 12, 2023. This happened during their 4–2 home victory against Sheffield Wednesday. In September 2023, Ozan Tufan was recognized as Hull City's Player of the Month for August, showing how well he played.

Moving to Trabzonspor

On June 27, 2024, Ozan Tufan moved to Trabzonspor for an undisclosed fee. He is currently playing for this club.

Playing for His Country

Youth National Teams

Ozan Tufan played for the Turkey national under-19 team. This team won the silver medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games held in Mersin, Turkey. He also represented his country in the 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.

Senior National Team Debut

On May 25, 2014, Ozan Tufan played his first game for the senior Turkey against Ireland in Dublin. On September 3, 2014, Ozan scored his first goal for the national team. It was a long-range shot against Denmark in a friendly game, scored in the 90th minute. Turkey won that game 2–1.

After the game, Ozan said that he heard Arda Turan encourage him to shoot. He was a bit scared of missing such an important shot, but he stayed calm and hit the ball. He thanked his coach, Fatih Terim, for giving him the chance to play.
