Pocoyo is a fun TV show for kids. It's about a curious little boy named Pocoyo. He doesn't talk much, but he loves to play and explore. Pocoyo has many awesome friends. His best pals include Elly the elephant, Sleepy Bird the bird, and Pato the duck.

Main Characters

Pocoyo

  • Pocoyo is the main character of the show. He is a young boy who is always curious. He loves to play games and discover new things. You will always see him wearing blue clothes and a blue hat. Pocoyo is always four years old. His "birthday" is on October 14. His best friends are Pato, Elly, and Loula. He has a cool vehicle called the Vamoosh. He can use it to travel underwater, in the air, or even through space! Montana Smedley usually voices Pocoyo. Sometimes, Alex Marty also voices him.
  • Pato is a yellow duck. He wears only a small green hat. "Pato" means duck in Spanish, Portuguese, Tagalog, and Papiamento. Kids love Pato because he does funny dances. He is usually friendly, but he can be a bit fussy and impatient. When he is upset or surprised, his beak bends. Sometimes, he gets really mad, jumping up and down and quacking loudly. Pato can turn into a jackhammer, a missile, or even a hat. He can also become a helicopter!
  • Elly is a pink elephant. She always carries a blue backpack. Elly loves making biscuits and tea. She also has a special doll that she loves very much. Even though she is big, Elly is very graceful and gentle. She can even do ballet dancing! She often rides around on her pink scooter.
  • Loula is Pocoyo's orange-yellow pet puppy. She is his loyal companion. The character was first named Lucas. This was to honor Creator and Director Guillermo García Carsi's dog. But the show needed more girl characters. So, her name was changed to Loula.
  • Sleepy Bird is a teal-colored bird. She spends most of her time sleeping. She often flies with her eyes closed! In the Spanish version, she is called "Pajaroto." This name is similar to "Pajarito," which means "little bird" in Spanish. Sleepy Bird can be active sometimes. But it's much more likely you'll find her asleep or just snoozing.

Other Friends

  • Aliens are small, sweet green creatures. Pocoyo finds them in space when he is looking for his toy plane.
  • Baby Bird is Sleepy Bird's small, active, and loud baby. Baby Bird often gets into tricky situations. Pocoyo usually rescues him. In the Spanish version, he is called "Pajarito," meaning 'little bird.'
  • Ball Orchestra is a group of three ball-shaped creatures. They play musical instruments like the trumpet, drums, and cymbals.
  • Butterfly is a very hungry butterfly. Pocoyo sometimes catches this butterfly.
  • Caterpillar (named "Valentina" in Spanish) is a yellow caterpillar. She has a blue bow on her head. She speaks in funny, made-up sounds. She can change into a butterfly and back whenever she wants!
  • (Fred the) Octopus is a red octopus. He only has four legs in the show to make it easier to animate him. Like Caterpillar, he speaks in funny sounds. He loves to sing! He appears in different episodes. Sometimes he is a main character, and sometimes he just appears briefly. In Season Two, he is sometimes called 'Fred.'
  • Finbar the Horse is a very happy horse. He loves to dance!
  • Music Flower & The Band are musical characters. They play music that Pocoyo really enjoys.
  • Whale is a huge white whale with red cheeks. Pocoyo meets this whale under the sea.
  • Jim is a knight wearing blue armor. Pocoyo meets him in an episode called "The Greatest." The British actress Courtney Webb voices Jim.
