Raj Kundra is a British-Indian businessman and part-time actor. In 2004, he was recognized as one of the richest British Asians by Success magazine. He has made investments in various areas, including cricket and mixed martial arts. He has been married to Shilpa Shetty, a famous Indian actress, since 2009.

Early Life
Raj Kundra was born in London, England. His parents were Indian immigrants from Punjab. Raj grew up in a middle-class family. His father, Bal Krishan Kundra, worked as a bus conductor in London before starting his own small business. His mother, Usha Rani Kundra, worked as a shop assistant.
Career Highlights
When he was 18, Raj Kundra moved to Dubai and later to Nepal. There, he started a business selling pashmina shawls to fashion stores in Britain. This business helped him earn his first millions.
In 2007, he moved back to Dubai. He started a company called Essential General Trading LLC. This company worked with valuable metals, construction, mining, and renewable energy projects. At that time, he also helped fund and produce Bollywood films.
His businesses have included Satyug Gold, Super Fight League, and Bastian Hospitality, which is a restaurant chain in Mumbai.
In 2015, Kundra helped launch Best Deal TV. This was an Indian television shopping channel that used celebrity endorsements to sell products. His partner in this venture was Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.
Raj Kundra also launched India's first live streaming social media app, called Jaldi Live Stream App. This app allows both professional and amateur streamers to share their content live. In June 2025, he appeared as a contestant on the Prime Video show The Traitors. He was eliminated early in the competition.

Involvement in Sports
Indian Premier League Cricket
In 2009, Raj Kundra and his wife, Shilpa Shetty, invested in the Indian Premier League cricket team Rajasthan Royals. They used a company based in Mauritius for this investment.
In July 2015, a special group chosen by the Supreme Court of India decided that Raj Kundra could no longer be involved in any cricket-related activities. Raj Kundra has stated that he was not involved in any wrongdoing and has appealed this decision.
Super Fight League
Raj Kundra and Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt started India's first professional mixed martial arts fighting league. It is called the Super Fight League. They launched it on January 16, 2012.
Awards and Recognition
Raj Kundra received the Champions of Change Award in 2019. This award recognized his work with the Swachh Bharat Mission, a clean India initiative. The award was given by former President of India Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on January 20, 2020.
Personal Life
Raj Kundra has been married two times. His first marriage was to Kavita Kundra, and they have a daughter together. They later divorced.
On November 22, 2009, Raj Kundra married Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. Raj and Shilpa have a son, who was born in 2012. They also have a daughter, who was born in 2020 through surrogacy.
Raj Kundra is also involved with his wife's charity, the Shilpa Shetty Foundation.
