The Rebisco Group of Companies, often called Rebisco, is a big snack food company from the Philippines. It's a private company, meaning its shares are not traded on a stock exchange. Rebisco makes many popular snacks and sells them all over the world. Its main office is in Ortigas Center, Pasig, Metro Manila. The company was started by Jacinto L. Ng Sr. in 1963.

Rebisco's Journey: From Small Bakery to Global Brand

Rebisco began its journey on August 15, 1963. It was founded by Jacinto L. Ng Sr. and was first called England Biscuit Factory. He started with a small, rented bakery in San Juan. His first products were Krema (cream-filled crackers) and Sodatine (plain crackers).

Growing the Business: New Name and Products

In 1972, the company changed its name to Republic Biscuit Corporation, or Rebisco for short. They also got a new look. In 1983, Krema crackers were relaunched as Rebisco Cream Sandwich. This became one of the company's most famous products.

Over the years, Rebisco created or bought other companies to make different types of snacks. These included JBC Food Corporation (1989), Suncrest Foods Inc. (1995), and Multirich Foods Corporation (1999). In 2003, Rebisco took over Storck Products Inc. (SPI), which made candies.

Expanding into New Snack Categories

In 2006, Rebisco started making chocolates with its own brand, Choco Mucho. This added a sweet new option to their snack lineup.

In 2009, Rebisco Foundation Inc. was created. This foundation helps with community projects. Also, the company's main office moved to the Joy-Nostalg Center in Ortigas Center, Pasig.

Reaching Out to the World

Rebisco started selling its products globally in 2012. They launched Rebisco Vietnam Ltd. and opened their first international factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2015. This was a big step for the company outside the Philippines.

In 2015, Rebisco also got into the flour and oil business by starting Agripacific Corporation. In the same year, they began making ice cream by acquiring Creamline Dairy Corporation, which was later renamed SFI Multimix Corporation.

Recent Milestones and Achievements

In 2018, to celebrate its 55th anniversary, Rebisco opened its first community retail store called Snacks To-Go. This allowed them to connect directly with customers.

In 2022, Rebisco entered the beverage market. They became the official importer of products from the Thai beverage company Ichitan in the Philippines.
